1 DAY LEFT

tHERE is only one day left for the placement exam. Today i spent the whole day studying. I am determined to pass the exam. MY parents want me to pass the exam. They gonna move me to the garage if i don't do well. I wish whole heartedly that i succeed. I felt very bad last time.Anyway i dont want to htink about it. Today i studied all the essays of this session. I have to wake up early each morning to come to college. So, i worked really hard as i was never late. I wish good luck to me and to all my friends.

gET tOGETHEr......................

I just came home from the get together party. It was good. I had lot of stuff like kimchi, dhokla, sweet dish, chocolate biscuits, fish filley, macaroni salad and rollups. I clicked pictures of my friends.I saw people dancing. But i didn't danced. I enjoyed a lot. Almost all the prestigious people from the LINCC program were there. Anyway now exam is coming and i am preparing for that.

Dog Show.....

Few days back the teacher gave us homework regarding solving questions of puppies behind bars. I saw the dog show on the internet. Yesterday we saw the movie 'Best in show'. It was a good movie. I was so impressed by the movie that I issued that one from the town library to watch it again. There was a competition between dogs. I liked the poodle but terrier won the competition. Tomorrow is the get together and I'm so excited about it.

This Sunday............

This sunday was a fun day.......I was in my house.I didn't go to the work today. I woke up at 9 o'clock. Around 11 I started studying for the placement exam. I did practice on the computer. I watched a movie after that. I went for practice of driving at 3 o'clock and I returned back at 4 o'clock. Still it is 4:15. May be i am going for shopping in the evening.

I met my x-classmate

Today while returning back from college i met one of my x-classmates in the bus. She is working in my town. She is from Peru. I was surprised finding her in my town. She is in college now and is taking evening classes. I asked her about her course. She told me that she is studying sociology and psychology. I came back home. Also i went to work today. Still I am figuring out the website for puppies behind bars. I want to watch it again. So I can write down my assignment. Dear teacher send me the link actually i am unable to find it.

I like science.

I want to get into science and math stream. Actually I am interested in becoming a nurse. I also like doing bachelor's in science. Still i am confused with taking my subjects. I want to get direct admission into nursing. In my 12 grade i have studied science. I like biology. I think I am thinking too much. I think dear teacher can help me find my subjects. I think first i should pass my placement exam that is important.

Exam is approaching.....

Days are coming near for the placement exam. I am feeling tensed about the exam. The teacher has given us websites to practice. I am working hard to get through. Every week I am going to the writing center and writing workshop. Still I need to emphasize on certain areas like organization of the essay. Today teacher said my writing 4 was better than previous ones. I think now I need to work more on listening. For example, npr can be helpful. But today I practiced on npr in the lab. It was helpful. I think my grammar is fine.

These days.........

These days are going very good. I am having a great time. Today i went to K building. There was a seminar regarding international students.I found the girl from level four very interesting. She came here to study in the U.S. because she can get financial help over here and it is better over here. She was my favorite speaker because she said everything simple and clear. There were many speakers from different countries. I enjoyed going to the panel. I left at 12:15. I went to writing center because i had my appointment there at 1 o' clock. I got my exam date today. I am working hard for the exam.

Sikh Day Parade

Today i went to manhatten for sikh day parade.We went to Gurudwara of Plainview at 10 o'clock in the morning. We parked our car over there. We took special bus organized by Gurudwara that took us to Manhatten. The parade was organized at the madison avenue. It started from there at 12 o'clock. It marched across streets. I also walked with the crowd. There was lunch organized at one place. I had lunch or 'langar'.It was a huge crowd. They were all punjabi people. We sat in the park nearby. All of my cousins from new hyde park and queens were there. Around 3 o'clock we planned to leave. But something bad happened. There was a fight between two groups of people. Two people were badly injured. Police came and they were caught. Afterwards ambulance also came. I was totally scared. Returning back that fight kept revolving in my mind. I can't see violence. We reach home at 6 o'clock. I had a great day.

Unity in Diversity

In India, people speak different languages. They have different clothing styles. They have different eating habits. I am from northern part of India. We speak punjabi and their are lot of punjabi families settled in Punjab. But you can find hindus and christians living in Punjab. They speak hindi but their children studying in public schools study english, hindi and punjabi. For example, Himachal Pradesh is an adjoining state. Their people speak Dogri and hindi. So that is different. Haryana is also near to Punjab. People there speak Haryanvi. Mostly south indians wear sarees but north indians wear suits. Punjabi Dress is salwar kameez.They have different occasions to celebrate. Diwali is celebrated all over the country.There exists unity in diversity.

Multicultural fair

Today I went to multicultural fair in the CCB Building with my friends.There were collections from Bronx zoo and different museums. There were cards of different countries like Russia, Ukraine, Colombia, Cyprus, Mexico,etc. with their three important facts. I liked Ukraine and Russia the most so I wrote three important facts about those. There was Achelles club. I got ticket for upper floor but I had an appointment for writing center so I didn't go upstairs.I enjoyed at the fair.

Baisakhi

Today is 14 th of april. This day each year in Punjab is celebrated as Baisakhi day. Farmers cut their harvested crops and sell them in the market. They sow new seeds. Boys and girls dance and rejoice. Boys do bhangra and girls do giddha. To celebrate Baisakhi I went to Gurdwara. We had a lot of things there to eat. I had mal pude, gol gappe, tikki, toast and karah prashad. Our whole town was there. There were so many punjabis. I am also planning to go to Sikh Day Parade on 24th of this month.I enjoyed a lot there and had good stuff to eat.

Arrange marriages are successful

I got this topic as a homework today but i liked it so i am writing it in my blog.There is no doubt of success of arrange marrriages. My parents had an arrange marriage. Love begins after the marriage. A relationship of love builds up after understanding of each other. There are less misunderstandings. Parents know our likes and dislikes than anyone else. During their search for a husband or a wife, they check the background of in-laws. They know us better as if where we can adjust.It is a live-in relationship. Both husband and wife are aware of their responsibilities.

Wow wot a day.............!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I had a wonderful day.It was my brother's b'day. He has turned eleven. He is going to middle school this fall. In the morning, I went to work. I came at five in the evening. First we celebrated by cutting chocolate cake. I clicked a lot of pictures. After that we went to Gurudwara. We also went to chuck e cheese's. We played a lot there. We went to Domino's pizza. We ordered cheese and veggie pizza. I did overeating. My dad didn't go to work today. My dad, brother and me went for a walk. We went to korean park nearby. When we came back we watched hindi movie on Zee tv. We made a lot of jokes. We all enjoyed a lot.

Driving lessons

The weather is getting better now. Summer is approaching. You can see flowers on the trees. There is nice breeze. I am planning to give the road test soon. I got learner's permit in november last year. Next week i am going to join driving school near to my house. I would take ten lessons for one month. I have met the lady whose my teacher. She is very nice. She would pick me up from my house and teach me how to drive. I am excited about learning driving. Soon i would pass the road test and get a two door car. I think that is good for me. It is not too costly. It would be comfortable for me to travel.

Vacation..............

These days are good........................I am working..........just now I returned from work.........even weather is good....Days are getting longer and nights are getting shorter................whenever I get time I watch television......call friends.........and read my book...........i think i am planning to change my book............tomorrow i would go to town library..........i think i like to read romantic novels.............weekdays are good..............now i am going to watch an english movie...........alrite..........!!!!!!!!!

My work

I work in a spanish restaurant........Tacobell........i think everybody knows it............i started working there november last year.............I really enjoy while working there........mostly i work saturdays.........sometimes even sundays.............i work wearing an uniform............everybody is very friendly over there................mostly employees talk in spanish.............i have started learning few words of spanish like hi, thankyou, sorry, how are you, etc. i am facing this problem because i didn't had my high school over here but in my country...........i use english to talk to them..........today i had my doctor's appointment............so i am fit to go to work tomorrow onwards............i would go there and make a lot of money...................!!!!!!!!!!!!

This weekend............

I am taking rest in my house...................i didn't go to work today.................because it would take time for me to get well.................i am reading books in my house.......................but i went for shopping today to target,kohl's etc...................i purchased good dresses...............i am watching aa english movie now..............................i wish elaine find my blog.......................!!!!!!!!!!!

Today i went to college after taking leaves anyhow....................i would submit my medical to the teacher................now i am recovering from pox.....................i think it would take few more days for the spots to go away...................next week is vacation...............i got time to take rest..........................anyhow i would be working part time in a restaurant..............i wish elaine find my blog...................and write a comment.......................!!!!!!

confusion........

this post is for today..........previous post is for monday.....................i got fever and chicken pox so i was not able to attend college...........tomorrow i am going to college because i am feeling better now...............by mistake i wrote my first post in my previous blog..........but i created a new blog today.................

First Day with new teacher

Hey.............today was my first day with new teacher Elaine..................she is experienced teacher..................she has good understanding of english...........today it was just the brief introduction of ours with her............i really enjoyed my day..............But i miss my last teacher Ashley..............i would mix up Elaine soon....................i enjoy studying english............
